Social Hackers Academy (SHA) is an international Non-Profit impact startup that democratises access to tech education and the labour market to all. With offices in Athens, Amsterdam and London, we are a truly diverse remote-first team coming from 10 different nationalities.

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our organization. The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing our books, creating balance statements, cashflow statements, and performing financial reporting for our EU projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to analyze financial data to drive informed decision-making.

It’s essential that the candidate is a Greek citizen residing in Attiki, Greece, is currently unemployed and is 18-29 years of age. This is a fixed contract (7 months) position fully sponsored by DYPA (Greek government unemployment agency). You can check your eligibility here. Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations.
  • Perform financial reporting for EU projects, including monitoring project budgets, tracking expenditures, and preparing financial reports for project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure financial information is accurately captured and reflected in project budgets and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management principles
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience with EU project financial management and reporting is highly desirable and would be greatly appreciated, but it's not mandatory
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Excel or Google Sheets.
